WENZEL has released WM | Blade Analyzer R2026-2, an update to its dedicated software for evaluating turbine and compressor blade measurements. The company says the new version increases analysis speed "by a factor of 300" and adds complete, automatic repair of defective section lines, along with a reworked interface that runs an analysis from a single button press.
The speed and automation claims are the substance of the release. Blade evaluation typically stalls on two things: section lines that come off the scan incomplete or broken, which an operator then repairs by hand, and multi-step analysis routines that have to be set up per blade. WM | Blade Analyzer R2026-2 targets both, repairing damaged section lines automatically and collapsing the analysis into one action. WENZEL frames the payoff as faster workflows with less manual effort. The 300-times figure is the company's own and it publishes no baseline for it, so how it translates on a given blade and setup is not something the release specifies.
Beyond the R2026-2 changes, the tool carries a standing feature set aimed at aerospace inspection teams. It supports manufacturer-specific evaluation standards from GE, Safran, Rolls-Royce, and Pratt & Whitney, alongside its own integrated evaluations that users can switch on or off individually. Engineers who inspect blades for more than one engine maker will care about that breadth: one package can cover tolerance checks across several customer specifications rather than switching tools per OEM. The software applies several best-fit algorithms to establish blade position before evaluating head and foot tolerances, and it measures standard parameters including maximum thickness, inlet and outlet edge radius, edge thickness, and blade length.
Reports are freely configurable across any blade, foot, or head cut, and a finished report can be saved as a template and reused for later measurements. Data moves in and out through file formats, with the software reading and writing VDA, IGES, CSV, and XML. The program runs manually or through command-line parameters, and results export in several formats for statistical tracking.
WENZEL has not published pricing or availability for the R2026-2 update. The software sits in the company's WM software line and is positioned to run against its own blade-measurement hardware, including the CORE series CMMs and the REVO 5-axis system that WENZEL lists as the related equipment for the tool.
