Visometry's Twyn augmented-reality inspection platform has been running in production at WISAG Industrie Service Gruppe for 18 months, with the German industrial services company crediting the tool with reduced rework costs and higher customer satisfaction across its welded-assembly and special-vehicle manufacturing lines.

Twyn functions as a go/no-go indicator on the shop floor, overlaying a CAD reference onto physical assemblies to flag whether components are present and correctly aligned. What's new here is the triage logic: only when Twyn flags a deviation does a dedicated metrology system get involved for precise follow-up measurement. Parts that pass go directly to the next production step without a separate measurement run. That workflow also reduces the need to transport large assemblies to standalone measurement stations, simplifying internal factory logistics as a side effect.

"Twyn has been saving us a lot of time and money for the past 18 months," said Guido Duphorn, Quality Director at WISAG. "The bottom line is higher customer satisfaction and lower rework costs as main advantages, those are clearly measurable benefits." Duphorn also singled out the tablet's splitscreen view and magnifying-glass function as particularly useful on the production floor.

The same triage approach extends to incoming-goods control, where WISAG uses Twyn to check supplier-delivered welded assemblies on arrival. Because the company produces numerous variants of special machines daily, with inspection criteria and geometries varying across every unit, the platform also shortens the onboarding curve for new quality staff: Twyn visualizes deviations directly, rather than requiring inspectors to rely on accumulated experience to identify and interpret errors.

WISAG is treating the deployment as an internal reference project and evaluating expansion across the wider corporate group. Planned next steps include connecting Twyn to digitized inspection records so results transfer automatically between systems, and pushing incoming-goods checks earlier in the process to catch defects sooner. Visometry is also developing AI-assisted detection for missing components, such as joining elements, which would automatically highlight absent features while keeping the human inspector responsible for the final call.
