Verisurf Software will introduce Verisurf 2027 at IMTS 2026 in Chicago, a release built around automated inspection programming. Two capabilities anchor it: automatic inspection plan creation from QIF, and expanded Persistent IDs that carry engineering intent from a STEP AP242 model through the manufacturing process.
The software runs on an open CAD platform, which Verisurf uses to keep an inspection routine tied to the original product definition rather than to a translated copy of it. Ernie Husted, president of Verisurf Software, said customers want to "automate inspection without losing the connection to the engineering STEP model." Engineers who program from a model rather than a drawing will care most about the QIF plan generation, since it automates a step that still runs largely by hand.
The release also adds vector control for go-to points inside the Automate module. Two right-click speed-menu options, Set Vector from CAD and Set Vector Dynamic, let programmers define approach, clearance, and movement direction while the go-to point stays where it was placed. That makes shaft motion easier to visualize and cuts setup time on complex 5-axis routines. For quality managers, it means more predictable execution and stronger collision avoidance planning before a program reaches the floor.
On the stand, Verisurf will drive a CMM fitted with a Renishaw REVO multi-sensor head, which handles high-speed tactile scanning, surface finish, ultrasonic thickness, part temperature, vision, and structured light on one machine. Automate programs it using measurement strategies called Curve Scan, Pocket Scan, and Spiral Scan. Because 5-axis motion articulates the probe head instead of swinging the full mass of the machine, the stylus can track a continuous path around a complex part without leaving the surface to reindex, which is where a 3-axis machine with a fixed probe or indexing head loses cycle time. A second 5-axis CMM on the stand runs the PH20, and the booth also carries the new Renishaw Equator X, which folds CMM and comparator capability into one unit.
Verisurf has published no general availability date or pricing for 2027, and the company frames the show as a demonstration rather than a launch, so delivery timing is still open. IMTS runs September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place, with Verisurf in the East Building, Level 3, booth 134330.
