Vaisala has launched Vaisala Care for Data Centers, a new service portfolio designed to help operators maintain measurement accuracy, operational reliability, and uptime across the full lifecycle of their sensing systems. The offering arrives in three tiers, Vaisala Care, Vaisala Care+, and Vaisala Commissioning Care, aimed at hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise facilities.
A single data center can run hundreds of instruments tracking temperature, humidity, and other parameters, each requiring ongoing calibration, verification, and documentation. As facilities scale, keeping that measurement performance consistent gets harder, and even small errors can throw off cooling efficiency or raise operational risk. "Uptime is what the data center world runs on. A small drift in humidity or temperature measurement can trigger cooling failures, hardware damage, or downtime. The cost of getting it wrong can be significant," said Jonatan Hongisto, director of the service portfolio for Vaisala Industrial Measurements.
The three tiers span accredited calibration, pools of replacement probes, expert support, on-site service, and calibration documentation for new facilities going through commissioning. What's new here is the scope: agreed verification arrangements can now extend to select third-party measurement devices, not just Vaisala's own hardware, letting operators manage measurement performance across a facility's full instrument fleet under one program rather than device by device.
The service concept ties directly into Vaisala's own measurement hardware, including the Indigo and Origo product lines and its compact probe portfolio. Pre-calibrated probes can be swapped in quickly, cutting the maintenance work needed on live systems and limiting disruption to facilities that can't afford downtime. The portfolio offers both remote and on-site service options.
Hongisto says it is a shift away from one-off service calls. "We're moving beyond individual service transactions toward a long-term partnership to help customers maintain measurement performance," he said, adding that the goal is to keep customers confident in their readings while supporting cooling performance, reliability, and uptime. Commissioning Care specifically extends that structure to new-build projects, providing calibration and handover documentation as facilities come online rather than after they're already running.
