SHINING 3D Metrology has upgraded three scanners in its FreeScan range, the Combo+ Wireless, the Trak Nova+, and the Trak Pro W+, and will walk through them in a webinar on September 9. Each builds on an existing FreeScan platform, and the company is pairing every scanner with an industrial inspection scenario rather than leading with a spec sheet.
The Combo+ Wireless is the one that changes most day to day. It keeps the compact, lightweight form and dual light sources of the previous Combo Series and cuts the cable, adding what SHINING 3D calls "a completely wireless workflow and significantly improved scanning performance." The company is pitching it for flexible inspection of automotive sheet metal.
The Trak Nova+ carries the all-in-one design of the original Trak Nova further, combining dynamic tracking with handheld scanning in one unit, and reaches up to 7.6 million points per second across multiple laser scanning modes. SHINING 3D is aiming it at scanning and inspection in server manufacturing. The Trak Pro W+ keeps the large-volume range of the Trak ProW series and adds a redesigned scanner structure and a revised power system, positioned for large-scale automated inspection in automotive manufacturing.
The webinar groups the three scanners with SHINING 3D's existing OptimScan Q Series into four manufacturing scenarios: the Combo+ Wireless for automotive sheet metal, the Trak Nova+ for server manufacturing, the Trak Pro W+ for automotive manufacturing, and the OptimScan Q Series for high-precision measurement of small precision components. The session runs product introductions, application demonstrations, customer stories, and a live Q&A.
