SCANOLOGY has launched the AccuArm, a portable coordinate measuring machine built on an articulated arm design, taking dimensional inspection to shop floors, assembly lines, and metrology labs without fixed CMM infrastructure.
The arm uses an aerospace-grade carbon-fiber structure with high-precision encoders and carries ISO 10360-12:2016 certification. To address measurement inconsistency in variable production conditions, AccuArm incorporates three compensation layers: thermal correction for both the arm and the workpiece, force compensation to account for probe-contact variation, and multi-frame optimization to reduce random error. Engineers inspecting in thermally active or mechanically variable environments will find all three error sources addressed in a single portable platform.
AccuArm ships in three configurations, S (Superior), E (Enhanced), and C (Classic), with reach options from 1.5 to 4.5 meters. A full 360-degree joint design improves access in confined spaces. Hot-swappable fast-charging batteries and wireless USB data transmission allow untethered operation, while a spring counterbalance enables single-person deployment without operator fatigue loading. Mounting options include tripods, magnetic bases, and vacuum suction systems, and probe replacement is plug-and-play.
The system supports GD&T analysis and fixture inspection through SCANOLOGY's DefinSight 3D Software, and is compatible with PolyWorks, Metrolog X4, and Verisurf. SCANOLOGY lists battery pack enclosure inspection, heavy machinery on-site measurement, and aerospace component verification among the primary target applications, alongside fixture adjustment and assembly inspection.
