Robotiq has launched IQ, an AI-enabled platform that automates the integration of robotic palletizing workcells by pulling together unstructured project data and drawing on lessons from thousands of previous factory installations.
The platform targets a familiar bottleneck in industrial automation: integration work remains manual and expert-dependent even as robot hardware has improved. Engineers who have watched palletizing projects stall during discovery and design revision will recognize what IQ is solving. It captures project information through voice notes, legacy file uploads, and 3D environment scans, then applies machine-learning models to align manufacturer specifications with Robotiq's deployment engineering knowledge and produce a validated workcell design before any hardware ships. The company calls the output a "Generated Workcell."
The platform includes six capability layers. A 5-minute Fit Check determines whether a Generated Workcell is feasible for a given operation. A Control Center manages the full project lifecycle across stakeholders. Voice Capture and File Capture turn conversations and uploaded documents into structured project data. A 3D Scan module digitizes the factory footprint from a single walk-through and feeds that data into a Simulator, which validates cycle time, reach, and payload against the scanned environment before any hardware ships.
Robotiq CEO Samuel Bouchard described the launch as a move away from project-by-project engineering. "Automation does not scale when integration remains manual," Bouchard said. "With IQ, we are moving from manually engineering robotic systems one project at a time to automatically generating Workcells from real customer inputs, Robotiq components, AI, and proven know-how from thousands of past projects."
IQ is available today for palletizing applications, where Robotiq says it has already standardized hardware components, software workflows, and deployment knowledge. The company plans to extend the Automatic Integration model to additional robotic application types, though no timeline or next application category was announced.
