Revopoint has launched the Trackit SR, a fully wireless optical tracking 3D scanner that delivers 0.02 mm single-frame accuracy without requiring adhesive marker points on the part being scanned.
The system targets inspection workflows in aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and mold and casting verification, where large or complex parts make cable-tethered or marker-dependent setups slow. Volumetric accuracy is specified at 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m). Integrated temperature sensors monitor ambient conditions continuously to flag potential drift, and the CMM Edition includes a CMM-certified ball plate for on-site traceable accuracy verification.
Three selectable laser modes cover different inspection tasks: 30 blue cross-laser lines for detailed surface capture, 17 parallel lines for fast coverage of large panels, and a single laser line for narrow features including deep holes and cavity interiors. Engineers who regularly work with dark, reflective, or metallic surfaces will note that all three modes eliminate the need for powder sprays or adhesive reference targets.
Both the handheld scanner and the separate optical tracker connect to a host PC over Wi-Fi 6. The scanner carries a rechargeable battery rated for 2.5 hours of continuous use, and an optional battery grip extends runtime for the tracker unit. Revopoint rates the system for ambient light levels up to 100,000 lux, qualifying it for outdoor field inspection and on-site industrial measurement beyond the lab.
Revopoint supports the Trackit SR with three applications that share a common data layer. Revo Track manages real-time capture and frame registration. Scan data passes directly into Revo Measure for GD&T analysis, deviation mapping, and inspection reporting, or into Revo Design for reverse engineering with STEP, IGES, and STL output. Revo Measure, bundled as a one-year license in the CMM Edition, also accepts PLY-format point cloud and mesh data from third-party scanners.
The Trackit SR ships in Standard and CMM configurations and handles objects from 10 mm to 4 m. The system supports Windows 10 and 11 only, and Revopoint specifies an optimal operating temperature of 20°C to 25°C, a constraint worth noting for engineers planning deployments in uncontrolled outdoor environments.
