READY Metrology has launched COREX ONE, a self-shielded industrial CT system built for production-floor deployment, eliminating the need for dedicated radiation bunkers, shielded rooms, or specialist CT operators.
The system uses a top-loading configuration, which the company says reduces floor space relative to conventional laboratory CT configurations while simplifying part loading for production personnel. For plastics and polymers, scans complete in 20 to 30 seconds, with a complete metrological report generated through background processing in under one minute. Aluminum and titanium parts take 40 to 50 seconds, with final results delivered in 90 seconds. Multiple parts can be loaded and scanned simultaneously.
What's new here is who runs the system. Rather than requiring a trained CT specialist, COREX ONE is designed for production operators with no CT background. A physical start button triggers each inspection. Results appear as 2D section views, similar to the output familiar from profile projector inspection, with a traffic-light pass/fail indicator. Selecting a flagged measurement surfaces dimensional trends over time alongside the corresponding section view, giving operators visibility into process drift before non-conforming parts accumulate.
Programming is handled by technicians, not operators. Measurement references and coordinate systems are established directly on the acquired 3D volume or on an STL model. Reference features including planes, cylinders, and points are defined, virtual section planes are created from those references, and dimensional checks with tolerances are assigned to each section. Once a program is set, the system extracts sections and performs measurements automatically during production inspection.
Beyond dimensional checks, COREX ONE includes automated porosity detection, surface comparison using color map analysis, and statistical trend monitoring. The system targets manufacturers working with plastics, aluminum and light-alloy castings, rubber, glass, carbon fiber, and titanium. Alongside the end-of-line operator mode, READY Metrology provides a separate production setup interface for technicians, which delivers a complete volumetric scan and on-screen analysis in under two minutes, designed for dimensional confirmation and production approval at the start of a run or between batch changeovers.
