Prodrive Technologies has announced upcoming customer shipments of the Runix-MX105, the first camera in its Runix family. The company aims the high-speed area scan camera at semiconductor and flat panel display (FPD) inspection, and also lists process monitoring, motion analysis, and scientific imaging. Its release is dated 17 September 2026.
The MX105 is built around Sony's IMX927, a 105-megapixel sensor, and runs at up to 112 frames per second. Prodrive describes the sensor as a global shutter, back-side-illuminated part from Sony's Pregius family. The company says the Runix platform reaches acquisition speeds beyond 10GPx/s.
Data leaves the camera over a 100G optical interface. Prodrive lists GigE Vision 3.0 over RDMA or CLHS as the transport options, and the camera is GenICam compliant. The fiber link supports cable lengths beyond 100 meters, which Prodrive says lowers total cost of ownership. On the image side, the camera offers pixel-level flat field correction, multiple user sets for custom flat field correction, and multiple ROI read-outs.
For metrology and inspection engineers, the pitch is coverage. Prodrive says the large field of view at a high frame rate shortens measurement cycles and raises accuracy and throughput.
Runix is a single platform with multiple sensor and resolution options, and the MX105 is the top-end 105-megapixel variant. Prodrive describes the thermo-mechanical design as compact and low in mass, which it says eases integration into inspection systems.
VISION Stuttgart 2026 is the first public showing. Prodrive's imaging specialists will have the MX105 running in Hall 10, Booth 10E59.
