Octave Intelligence plc has released an update to its Reliance NXG Cloud Platform quality management system that adds AI-powered Complaint Intelligence and a natural language Smart Search. The release also expands security controls and ties supplier qualification to audit management. Octave says the update extends its vision of a "connected, intelligent quality management platform."
Complaint Intelligence automatically generates structured summaries of incoming complaints and identifies similar historical complaints and related investigations. It also gives AI-assisted assessments of customer urgency and potential product risk. Octave says the goal is to cut manual review and speed up investigations.
Smart Search lets users find quality records in everyday language instead of exact keywords. It combines semantic search with traditional search, applies filters derived from user intent, and supports cross-language queries for global teams. For quality managers, the practical change is that complaint triage and record lookup depend less on manual review and keyword guesswork.
Security gets its own set of additions. Automated identity lifecycle management handles user provisioning and deprovisioning through integration with enterprise identity providers. Self-service IP-based access controls let organizations restrict network access, and multi-factor authentication now covers supplier, contractor and other external user accounts.
On the supplier side, new versions of the Suppliers, Materials and Chemicals (SMC) and Audits Management applications add integrated supplier qualification. Organizations can run qualification, requalification and supplier audits in one process that keeps traceability from evaluation through approval. Audit outcomes, qualification decisions and supplier records synchronize automatically. Updates to Audits Management also route audit findings to follow-up processes such as CAPAs, supplier corrective actions and nonconformances.
Vick Vaishnavi, head of Octave Reliance, said the enhancements were "directly informed by customer feedback."
Reliance was formerly ETQ Reliance and includes more than 40 ready-to-use applications, among them Document Control, CAPA, Training and Supplier Quality. Octave's product page cites an 80 percent improvement in new product introduction cycle times at Kimberly-Clark, a 32 percent reduction in scrap and rework at Trane, and a 50 percent cut in CAPA and SCAR resolution time at Rheem.
