Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. has launched DataNavigateApp, a browser-based production analytics application built for its MELSEC iQ-R series C Intelligent Function Module. The software installs via SD memory card and converts data already sitting inside a PLC into dashboards covering machine performance, downtime, and energy use. Setup requires no ladder logic or C programming, and Mitsubishi Electric says the goal is to "lower the barrier to production analytics" for manufacturers that already collect machine data but rarely turn it into action.
The app runs entirely in a web browser, so operators can check machine status and production trends from a PC or tablet without installing dedicated HMI hardware. It also reads from third-party PLCs over standard industrial communication protocols, not just Mitsubishi Electric's own controllers. Engineers running mixed-vendor or brownfield lines will find that detail most useful: if a CPU module already stores production data, DataNavigateApp can visualize it without rewriting existing PLC programs or launching a separate integration project.
Dashboards let users compare operational data side by side across different time periods, machines, or production conditions, a setup geared toward spotting output instability, tracing causes of unplanned downtime, and flagging wasted power consumption. Mitsubishi Electric also positions the tool as a step toward predictive maintenance, surfacing performance degradation trends before they cause a stoppage. Daniel Sperlich, Strategic Product Manager Controllers EMEA at Mitsubishi Electric, said manufacturers "can start small, prove value quickly and then scale at their own pace" once the app is running on a single line.
The launch responds to a gap Mitsubishi Electric describes as common on factory floors: most plants already collect large volumes of machine data but lack a practical way to turn it into shopfloor action. DataNavigateApp is built around incremental rollout rather than a factory-wide push from day one. The application is available now through Mitsubishi Electric's EMEA product pages, alongside the MELSEC iQ-R series C module it runs on. Mitsubishi Electric recommends starting with a single machine or production line, confirming the results, then copying that configuration across the rest of the plant once it proves out.
