Jet Investment has put €2.1 million into GigaScan Technologies, a Swedish company building 3D optical inspection systems for factory floors, through its early-stage vehicle Jet Venture 1. The system generates a detailed 3D digital model of a part, capturing geometry, color, and surface characteristics, directly on the production line, without markers, spray coatings, or a specially controlled environment.

Manufacturers inspecting complex parts have typically faced a tradeoff: fast camera-based inspection that struggles with complicated geometries, or precise measurement performed offline, away from the line. GigaScan's system is built to close that gap. The same hardware handles CMM-type measurement and 2D/3D vision tasks, with vibration compensation and 6D measurement built in, according to the company. Engineers running high-mix lines will care that GigaScan is pitching this as a full inline replacement for offline sampling, not just a faster camera.

The company points to an eleven-year deployment as evidence the approach holds up outside the lab. A system installed in 2015 at the Borgers KG plant, now part of Autoneum, has run continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and has logged only about eight days of downtime since, a 99.8 percent availability rate.

'Our goal is to give manufacturers accurate data on every part without slowing down the production line or compromising quality,' said Patrik Folkesson, founder and CEO of GigaScan Technologies. The new capital will go toward expanding the development team, scaling production and supply capacity, growing the patent portfolio, and funding working capital, according to Jet Investment. 'What was decisive for us was not only the quality of the technology, but also its proven track record in long term industrial operation,' said Kamil Levinský, CEO of Jet Venture 1.

The deal is the latest for Jet Venture 1, the fund Jet Investment launched in 2024 to back industrial B2B startups. The fund has previously invested in Partory, International Automotive Group, Cequence, Boost.space, Headmade Materials, Digicust, and DecisionRules, making GigaScan its eighth portfolio company.
