iba AG has added native support for LAND thermal imaging cameras in ibaCapture v5.7, enabling ibaPDA to acquire temperature data as numerical process values synchronized with other plant and machine signals across the iba system.

The joint development between iba AG and LAND, a business of AMETEK Inc, addresses a common gap in continuous process monitoring: thermal imaging data has typically lived in separate systems, making it hard to correlate hotspots or thermal anomalies with the machine states and process conditions that preceded them. With the new integration, engineers can acquire, store, visualize, and analyze thermal data from LAND cameras within the same environment used for drive signals, PLC data, and sensor feeds.

For each defined Region of Interest, ibaCapture automatically calculates minimum, maximum, and average temperatures, all time-synchronously aligned with the full ibaPDA process record. What's new here is that thermal ROI values now live in the same data file as the drive states, pressure readings, and other process signals that preceded the anomaly. Data can be stored offline in ibaHD-Server or as DAT files.

Configuration options accommodate a range of industrial camera deployments. Temperature display can be set to Celsius, Kelvin, or Fahrenheit. Engineers can assign specific emissivity values to individual ROIs, and hotspot and coldspot visualization is selectable per region using a color-coded temperature scale. The integration also supports motorized focus control and shutter operation directly within ibaCapture, removing the need for separate camera software.

LAND has supplied industrial infrared measurement equipment for more than 75 years, with imaging systems deployed across steelmaking, electric vehicle battery production, and other high-temperature continuous processes. The update extends iba AG's multi-signal synchronization capability to thermal imaging, a data type that has traditionally required dedicated standalone analysis tools.
