Gleason will demonstrate the 300GMSP nano Gear Metrology System at IMTS 2026, a production-floor inspection platform built to feed measurement results directly back into the manufacturing process as part of what the company calls closed-loop manufacturing. The system anchors a broader IMTS showcase spanning gear design, cutting, grinding, inspection and functional testing, with Gleason framing measurement as an active input to production rather than a downstream quality check.
The 300GMSP nano uses skidless probe technology to measure submicron surface finishes, while Advanced Waviness Analysis and KTEPS software evaluate profile and lead waviness and help analyze gear noise behavior. Integrated cobot loading automates part handling, and a direct connection to the Gleason Closed Loop System lets measurement results flow into an automated production feedback loop without operator intervention.
That feedback loop is the core pitch. Measurement data can prompt manual or automatic corrections back at the machine, letting manufacturers monitor process trends and correct deviations before they turn into scrap rather than simply flagging nonconforming parts after the fact. Engineers running unattended or lights-out cells will care most about the automatic-correction path, since it removes the assumption that a human is standing by to interpret an inspection report.
Gleason is also bringing its Intra DFT Double Flank Testing Systems for rapid production verification of composite gear deviations, alongside Intra Single Flank Testing systems for more detailed transmission-error analysis. CRITERION Analysis Software ties the results together for part verification, statistical process monitoring, quality management and measurement-data traceability.
The showcase also targets a newer demand driver: humanoid robotics, which needs increasingly precise, compact gears. Gleason will show manufacturing technology for strain wave gears, planetary gearboxes and small bevel gears, including the 80PS Power Skiving and Hobbing Machine, the 100C Bevel Gear Cutting Machine and the 175GMS nano for fine-pitch work. Gleason's Digital Solutions suite, consolidated under its GEMS platform, adds Fingerprint Diagnostics, process monitoring, tool management and preventive maintenance on top of the measurement data.
