GelSight has released version 4.4 of its GelSight Mobile software, extending the platform's surface and profile roughness parameter library and adding workflow tools across reporting, automation, and data export.

The update delivers new profile roughness parameters, including Rmr and calculated averages for Rq, Rp, Rv, Rz, Rt, Rsk, Rku, RSm, and Rc. Surface roughness gains Sdq, Sdr, Sds, Ssc, and Smr. Multi-profile offset analysis now outputs average, minimum, and maximum values, reducing the manual aggregation that engineers previously handled outside the software.

The interesting part is fastener flushness analysis, which 4.4 updates to measure at the center of the fastener rather than relying on an edge or averaged footprint. For aerospace and automotive inspection, that distinction can affect whether a part passes or fails a flush-mount requirement.

Reporting and data sharing also change in this release. PDF report templates standardize documentation output, and a new PLY export option lets surface scan data move directly into CAD or reverse-engineering tools without intermediate conversion. Stacked routines in Operator mode let supervisors chain measurement sequences, lowering the per-task setup burden for floor operators.

Additional updates include guided step-by-step animations for calibrating the Modulus accessory, a capture-with-reference function, and API access for integration with external quality management systems. The full 4.4 feature set now covers defect detection, scratch and pit analysis, particle counting, hole diameter measurement, shot peen coverage, and an AI Toolbox.

The 4.4 update is available to existing GelSight Mobile customers on request through the company's website. GelSight Mini and DIGIT product users are not eligible for this release.
