Elmo Motion Control introduced the Titanium servo drive family and extended its Platinum line on June 18, presenting the products at booth S-3601 during Automate 2026 in Chicago. The announcement covers five products across the two lines, all targeting compact industrial, robotic, and mobile applications with what Elmo describes as "new benchmarks for power density."

The Titanium lineup spans three devices. The Titanium Castanet is a dual-axis drive built from stacked PCBs, measuring 41 x 54 x 19.4 mm with a heatsink and supporting up to 1.2 kW per axis at 100 VDC and 15A for a combined 2.4 kW. The Titanium Harmonica shares the dual-axis architecture at higher power ratings, up to 2.5 kW per axis at 200V or 1.6 kW at 100V. The Titanium Maestro motion controller anchors the family, coordinating up to 256 axes and achieving EtherCAT cycle times down to 100 µs for 16 simultaneous axes. All three integrate GaN (Gallium Nitride) switching technology and communicate functional safety signals over FSoE or hardwired STO.

What's new here is the form factor math. Elmo says one Titanium Castanet replaces two Elmo Twitter servo drives, with the final assembly at roughly half the combined volume. That consolidation also reduces bus complexity, with x/y synchronization now running on a single EtherCAT bus instead of two, simplifying both wiring and system certification.

Two new Platinum drives target higher power tiers. The Platinum Jori, available in 30A and 60A variants, delivers up to 20 kW and 40 kW of continuous power respectively, and is the first Elmo drive to use Silicon Carbide (SiC) power stage technology. The Platinum Cymbal targets demanding environments with up to 17 kW in a rugged enclosure. Both include functional safety and support up to three feedback devices, including two absolute encoders.

Elizabeth Victor, director of sales at Elmo US, said in a statement that integrated functional safety "can reduce or even eliminate the need for safety cages," cutting both hardware and cabling costs for OEMs. Elmo flags, however, that functional safety certification is still in process across these products, not yet complete. The drives are supported by Elmo Application Studio III (EASIII) and Composer2 for algorithm development and testing.
