The first Control Expert Days opened today at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre, running May 20 to 21 as a companion event to the Control trade fair for quality assurance. Organizer P. E. Schall built the two-day format around two themes, one per day.
Day one covers quality management and sustainability, with talks on laser ultrasound for inline detection of internal defects, intelligent data analysis, and test process management. Michael Salamon of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS delivers a keynote on future X-ray technology in QA. Day two turns to AI in quality assurance, with a keynote from Dr Henrike Stephani of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics on industrial applications, plus sessions on sensor fusion and AR-assisted visual inspection.
Engineers planning their schedule should note the two panel discussions, billed as Control-Expert-Days-Talks, both start at 15:15. The event runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in hall 9 at the west entrance, with parking at P26 and P30. Admission is free for trade visitors.
