AUBO Robotics has launched the G Series, two collaborative robot arms designed to push cobot payloads into territory traditionally occupied by conventional industrial robots. The G35 handles 35 kg at a 2,100 mm reach and weighs 115 kg. The G40 supports 40 kg with a more compact arm geometry and comes in at 109 kg. Both achieve a payload-to-weight ratio of up to 1:2.73, and their 315 mm base diameter keeps installation options open in congested cells.
What's new here is the full-joint torque sensing architecture. Every joint carries a dedicated torque sensor that detects force changes with up to 5 percent full-scale accuracy, letting the robot adjust position and force in real time. That matters for applications where contact forces vary, such as welding seam tracking, machine loading, or handling deformable goods in logistics.
Motion control runs over EtherCAT at 1 kHz, with joint speeds reaching 336 degrees per second and end-effector speeds up to 6.4 m/s. AUBO says the G Series completes certain moves up to 47 percent faster than comparable models, aided by vibration suppression that holds positional repeatability to ±0.05 mm. The control system operates at 96 V, replacing the older 48 V platform, which AUBO says reduces heat loss under sustained heavy loads.
Setup options include the wired G-Pendant with a physical emergency stop for precise positioning work, and the wireless G-STICK controller, which operates up to 10 meters from the robot and mounts to Android or HarmonyOS tablets. The robots run AuboStudio software and ship in a standard controller configuration or a compact Mini variant. Cable lengths extend to 40 meters for longer production lines.
The G35 carries IP67 protection and an explosion-resistant housing for welding environments, and both models handle extreme temperature ranges. AUBO's existing i-Series and iS-Series cover payloads from 3 kg to 35 kg. The G Series extends the ceiling to 40 kg, closing a gap that has historically pushed manufacturers toward fenced industrial robots above the 25 kg range. Pricing and availability have not been announced.
