AT Sensors builds the IRSX-2 series as a stand-alone smart infrared camera platform for industrial temperature monitoring, combining thermal imaging, on-board image processing and industrial networking in one compact unit. The company describes it as the "next generation" of its smart infrared camera platform, built to run automated thermal inspection jobs on a machine or production line without a separate PC or external processing box.

The camera connects over Modbus, REST API and Ethernet, and ships in an IP67 housing with industrial M12 connections, hardware suited to washdown areas, welding cells and other environments where a standard machine-vision enclosure would not survive. For a QA team or CMM operator adding thermal checks to an existing line, that stand-alone design matters: the IRSX-2 handles image processing itself, cutting out the industrial PC and custom software stack that thermal monitoring setups often require.

Configuration runs through a web-based interface built around what AT calls an App and Job concept, letting users define multiple areas of interest within a single scene. Two apps cover the processing side. The Smart Processing App runs image analysis directly on the camera, while the GigE Vision App exposes the feed in a standardized format for integration with third-party or customer-built vision software.

The IRSX-2 ships in three optical variants: a 4.9 mm lens with a 95-degree field of view, a 9.2 mm lens at 49.9 degrees, and a 13.6 mm lens at 32 degrees, letting integrators trade field of view for working distance depending on the application. AT lists welding, food monitoring, electronics monitoring and general industrial monitoring as target use cases.

Each variant carries the same base designation, IRSX-2 – 640S/F, with the lens size and field of view appended to identify the specific model, such as IRSX-2 – 640S/F – 13.6 – 32D for the narrowest-angle version.
